Mark's Gospel LIVE is a solo performance, and has enjoyed over 200 performances throughout the US, UK, and Canada. All of St. Mark's characters are portrayed as the story is narrated right from the Biblical text. There are no other actors. It is not a reading or a talk. It is the actual words of the Gospel memorized and performed like story telling.

Mark's Gospel LIVE can be performed in any church, auditorium, amphitheatre, or theatrical space. As much as possible, the performance is adapted to the lighting and sound systems already in place in a given facility.  Normally, all that’s needed is a wireless microphone and two wooden chairs.  Some small props will be provided. Extra lighting is always welcome. The performance normally takes place near and within the center aisle, in front of the front rows, and among the people gathered.

The production is “non-denominational.” The Gospel of St. Mark is for everyone and anyone.

Many children about age 8 and up have enjoyed Mark's Gospel LIVE, and some younger children may also enjoy it, owing to the particular child. Guardians are encouraged to use their own discretion. Though the first half of Mark is often emotional, humorous, and light-hearted, the second half includes the horror of crucifixion.

The performance runs about two hours, including a ten-minute intermission.

Typically there is no box office charge or performance fee for Mark's Gospel LIVE. Usually during intermission, a pass-the-hat donation is accepted for the support of this ministry. Some hosts of Mark's Gospel LIVE prefer to collect a suggested donation at the door, or sell tickets, and skip the intermission donation. When flights (the cheapest) and lodging (motel or someone's spare rooms) are involved, something can be worked out. In cases where a free-will offering is not possible or appropriate, a fee can be worked out owing to circumstances. Some have paid a fee and then taken up a collection to offset the fee (pay themselves back). No one can be left out of this gospel experience just because of money! I do benefit performances for Atlanta-area food banks/shelters, and other institutions at my discretion.  A percentage of any revenues will be donated to the Catholic Center at KSU where I am chaplain.

Please send me an email and we'll talk about it.
